Al-tho Chad is poor food and money wise , its rich in its sense of culture. Its people does not share a common "national food culture" but they all eat with the same ingredients differing on what part of Chad they live in. They also have six national holidays three that divide into the two dominant religions of Islam and Christianity. Islam is dominant over Christianity though. Most of the Chadians live according to Islamic traditions, affecting clothing, food and music.

Clothing:

The regular clothing that men and women wear differs in their religious views. The women wear long robes or dresses that have, usually, tribal decorations depending from what tribe they originate from, also some decorations can be used to signify it the are christian or Muslim. The men on the other hand wear western modern day clothing, such as shorts, regular t-shirts, undergarments, button ups and more. For Image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tailor_in_Chad.jpg

Food:

The food served in Chad is most favorably a type of grain porridge. In the south ,unlike the North there is no fish in the meals, and they use less milk products. The food of southern peoples also shows more variety in forest products, tubers, spices, and fruits that are eaten. The main food, apart from sorghum and millet, are maize, manioc, potatoes, rice, sesame, and some bean specie. Also in southern of Chad drinking is not as common as it is in Northern Chad. Since their inst a specific cuisine over all i am going to mention two main type of foods eaten. One being grain porridge, which as it name states, is porridge made out of a variety of grains sometimes eaten with slices of lean meats. They also prefer to eat a ball of millet flour served with sauces that contain meat, dried fish, tomatoes, onions, and good spices. Like in the picture shown to the left, the piece of food on the bottom left corner. Another food that is popular (mostly in Southern Chad) is peanut sauce over rice. Peanut sauce, hence the term peanut is made out of peanuts blended with milk, if possible added soy sauce or like juice. Peanut sauce with rice can also be eaten with chicken and other lean meats to spice the flavors up. The alcoholic beverages are usually Gala, its most available in non Muslim parts on the city. They also drink Karkanji, which is made of hibiscus flowers.

Music:

Chadians play weird but beautiful instruments such as kinde; a type of bow harp, hu hu ; a stringed instrument and kakakai; a long thin horn. Theirs a large variety that depends on ethnic groups. The other instruments that can be used are flute-like instruments, whistles, drums, balafones, and harps. The preferred type of music is jazz. Chad has its on Jazz group called Chari Jazz, formed in 1964. Other groups such as African melody and Callal grew in Chad. Their was a musical cluster due to groups collating modernized Jazz with traditional. This contributed to the fast growth of music diversity and musical groups. (no pictures are abailable)
